Thomas Lau was a student of Mr. Cheun Tam, esteemed President of OCMS, since 1994 and has completed his Performer's ARCT examination with First Class Honours in 2002 under the tutelage of Mr. Chuen Tam. He has been the Concertmaster of the OCMS Youth Symphony Orchestra since its founding in April 1999 and is an active participant in the OCMS Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 1996, he has participated and won awards in various musical festivals and competitions, including the Yip's Music Festival '96, the Richmond Hill Music Festival '98 and Kiwanis Music Festival 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001 & 2002. He made his hallmark debuts in 2000 & 2002 as featured soloist with the former Youth Orchestra which was expanded into the present Youth Symphony Orchestra in 2003.
